CRUK 2021/2022

In 2021-2022, I worked as a Junior Graphic Designer for Cancer Research UK, where I had already worked as an information designer in 2019. You can check out my work back then here. My job entailed working on a variety of jobs, mostly focused on material for events and fundraising campaigns for life-saving research. On this page, you can find a small selection of what I’ve worked on.

CRICK ANNIVERSARY

In November 2022, the Francis Crick Institute, where most of CRUK’s research gets made, celebrated its 5th anniversary. For the event, I had to design digital and printed material, including wall vinyls, presentations, programs, invites and a lot more.

Part of the job was handling the logistics of printing, liaising with the different stakeholders and managing the workload throughout the months it took to coordinate all the pieces involved.

CRUK Shops

CRUK Shops is a brand I help develop together with a small team of wonderful designers. I worked on the logo, social media assets and templates and in general in forming what has become the new online look and feel of the CRUK shops. You can check out the project here.

ICONS

Designing icons was a big part of my previous work as an information designer. As a Junior Graphic Designer, I designed a few more, which helped expand the collection of branded icons. The geometric style, the compact format and the presence of a dot were just some of the features these icons have to ensure consistency and brand attribution.

Fundraising packs

A big part of my work at CRUK was creating and updating fundraising packs for people to use when taking on a challenge to raise money.

These packs included additional material, like badges and guides, and were designed following different styles, as CRUK has different sub-brands.

FLAME OF HOPE

The Flame of Hope awards are Cancer Research UK’s annual awards that celebrate the achievements of their most outstanding and inspiring volunteers. I was tasked with working on a brand refresh and with designing digital and printed material. You can check the project here.

TRADING

The shops of CRUK are a big component of the work the organisation does, which means posters, ads and other informational material always needing designing and updating.

Designing printed material for shops meant having to come up with designs that stand out but are also able to blend into the background. Here an example of a poster and an informational brochure.
